Literature Text

We constructed a ship made up of non-matter
and sailed it swifter than rays of light;
Steering leeward past time's final factor
passing beyond all perception and sight.

Lost to eternity's mazed darkness and void
We sat frozen, vague forms unemployed
stranded in vistas as yet unwrought
waiting for waves to carry us forth.

Our pelagic souls arise, expand expectations
charting co-ordinates on the new crest of the tide
Constantly veering to our own oscillations
and in such varying moments we shall abide.
I was trying to write something about "light" but then it sort of spiralled out of control and became about time... (I have this odd intuition that light, energy and time are linked somehow...) I don't know all the science of it, so I put it in art instead! So here's a science-fictiony poem, about two time-travellers sailing beyond time (using imagination??)
Oh and it's non-matter, NOT antimatter! Specific semantics ^_^
